Biography

Dr. Saw Sanda Aye is currently Rector of the University of Information Technology. She received her Ph.D with Computer Software Engineering from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan in 2008. She received her M.C.Sc and B.C.Sc from University of Computer Studies, Yangon in 1997 and 1994 respectively. Dr. Saw Sanda Aye is focusing her research on Software Engineering, especially in Software Development Models and Software Development Environments for a Distributed Cooperative Work.

Education

  • Ph.D. degree in 2008 at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan majoring in Software Engineering
  • Master degree from University of Computer Studies, Yangon in 1997 at UCSY
  • Graduated with Bachelor of Computer Science (B.C.Sc) degree in 1994 at University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY)
  • Finished high school in 1986

Work Information

  • Currently working as Rector at University of Information Technology since December 2012
  • Moved as Deputy Director General in May 2012 at Department of Advanced Science and Technology
  • Promoted as Pro-rector of University of Computer Studies, Mandalay (UCSM) in September 2010.
  • Work as Director of Department of Advanced Science and Technology (DAST) in May 2010.
  • Work as a head/Principle of Computer University (Pyay) in January
  • After finished Ph.D degree from Japan, in December 2008, work again as a professor and teaching undergraduate, post graduate students and supervise the Master and Ph.D. candidates, at UCSY.
  • After graduate, in 1997, works at the University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY) as a tutor (till Associate Professor) and teaching under graduate, post graduate students on software engineering subjects, Management Information Systems and database management subjects, supervising the Master students' thesis.

Research Interests / Areas of Expertise

  • The focus area of research is Software Engineering, especially in Software Development Models and Software Development Environments for a Distributed Cooperative Work.
