Business Information Systems (BIS)

The Bachelor of Computer Science in Business Information Systems degree program focuses on teaching students how to use the Information Technology to support business operations and decision-making. Students learn about information systems, database management, business analytics, and project management.

B.C.Sc. (BIS) typically combines elements of business administration, information technology, and management to prepare students for careers that involve leveraging information systems to support business operations and decision-making.

B.C.Sc. (BIS) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how information technology and information systems are used to drive business processes, enhance decision-making, and support strategic objectives. This program combines topics in business management, information technology, and data analysis.

The aims of Business Information Systems bachelor’s degree are:

  • to provide students with a holistic understanding of how information technology can be strategically leveraged to support and optimize business operations.
  • to equip students with the knowledge and skills to bridge the gap between technology and business, enabling them to analyze organizational needs, design and implement effective information systems, and manage data and technology resources efficiently.
  • to foster expertise in areas such as data analytics, enterprise software, project management, and Cybersecurity, empowering graduates to facilitate data-driven decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure information security within organizations.
  • to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, enabling graduates to effectively communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive innovation and competitive advantage
  • to produce professionals who can harness the power of information systems to address complex business challenges and contribute to the success of modern enterprises.
