High Performance Computing (HPC)

The Bachelor of Computer Science in High-Performance Computing (HPC) degree program focuses on teaching students how to harness supercomputers and advanced computing technologies to solve complex problems rapidly.

B.C.Sc. (HPC) typically falls under the field of computer science or a closely related discipline. High-performance computing involves designing and utilizing powerful computing systems to solve complex problems and perform large-scale simulations.

B.C.Sc. (HPC) is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work with advanced computing systems and tackle computationally intensive tasks. This program covers a range of topics, including parallel computing, distributed systems, virtualization technology, numerical methods, and optimization techniques.

The aims of High Performance Computing bachelor’s degree are:

  • to provide students with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of computing at scale.
  • to equip students with the knowledge and skills to design and optimize high-performance computing systems, parallel algorithms, and distributed computing solutions.
  • to foster expertise in areas such as supercomputing, grid computing, and cloud computing, enabling graduates to tackle computationally intensive problems in diverse fields, from scientific research to finance and beyond.
  • to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills, enabling graduates to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies and solutions that harness the power of high-performance computing
  • to produce professionals who are well-prepared to drive innovation and efficiency through advanced computing techniques.
